When in Paris for PFW
#StyleloveTravels to Paris for Paris Fashion Week
I’m going to try and tell you about my trip to Paris, cause I also have a travel/lifestyle section in this blog and I have to feed it sometimes you know?
The main reason I visited Paris was to attend Paris fashion week and I had booked everything in advance with my friend Despina of youstrikemyfancy.com. during February I was waiting for my possible invitations – I had sent accreditation requests 2-3 weeks before the events – well it was only a few days before I left that I got some positive feedback. I knew it would be hard and thank God I had asked MAC Greece for some backstage invites, or else I was going to view all the shows from other peoples Instagram stories while in Paris. Duh! Although, the thought of being a tourist felt very energetic to me. Winking my eye.
And so the journey begun and I left Athens alone because Despina got sick a few hours before the flight! I know!!! I arrived to the small but cute apartment at the 4th floor with no elevator and had to carry my suitcase. Exhausted already! I knew it was cold but I was very well prepared if you know what I mean… Huge suitcase! Anyway, I had one day to spend alone and then Ioanna (of Ioanna Hatziandreou photography) and maybe Despina would come along.
I spent the day walking, drinking wine and making new friends at bistros, posing happily for me. At the evening I was invited to the #MACbackstage party where I had lots of fun and managed to socialize with many other gals. We did our makeup with Mac experts, learned about the new Prep and Prime Fix+ and drunk wine, again.
The next day would be a busy day since I had a few presentations and a show to attend but also, Despina did come and so did Ioanna! Fun was just around the corner!
I met Alexis Mabille and saw his great collection, finally met Robert Clergerie team in person, had wine, met new friends again, watched the Redemption show and had tea at Le Meurice hotel with the gals while listening to the piano. Very chic, very Parisian.
Saturday was the day that I would witness the backstage greatness and I was prepared! Outfit, breakfast, coffee and camera ready! Haider Ackermann and Altuzarra! What an amazing experience! It is so beautiful to see the before and after. The designer ‘s anxiety, the models, the clothes hanging ready to be worn, the photographers, the make up artists, hair stylists, all ready to play along. And at the end the show begins and you feel the happiness and joy of these people. I truly loved it! After the shows, we had some more presentations but also, plans for lunch, drinks and dinner! My favorite time! We also shoot lots of pictures. Winking my eye!
We chose our last day to be a day for museums and breakfast at Café de Flore. We only managed to do the second part. It started raining and we just wanted to stay at the airbnb and wait for our taxi. Hate the rain! I HATE THE RAIN!
So, in conclusion, it all went great given the circumstances and the fact that it was my first time in Paris Fashion week. However, this is the only way I would like to do fashion weeks. With good friends, a lot of wine (and cheese), lots of fun and a little work. Winking my eye.
As for Paris, although I have visited three times in my life, there are always new things to see and taste. So, for next time I’ve made my notes for places to visit!
Bonsoir to all!
